Prep IV enjoyed an exciting and productive term under the guidance of Mrs. Booth, supported wonderfully by Miss Gregory. It has been a time of growth, discovery, and memorable experiences that have exemplified the Bridgewater values of inclusivity, intellect, integrity, and inspiration.
The term began with a much-anticipated residential trip to Anglesey. The children demonstrated teamwork, confidence, and resilience as they navigated the challenges of staying overnight in a new location. The shared excitement of spending time with friends, reliving the day’s adventures over snacks, and making lasting memories made this a highlight of the term.
The following week, the class ventured to Tatton Park for an immersive Viking experience. From sculpting Viking faces with clay to sketching detailed portraits, the children eagerly embraced the opportunity to step into the shoes of these historical figures. Their curiosity and creativity were on full display as they learned about Viking life and culture.
Back in the classroom, Prep IV delved deeply into The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. The class text inspired a variety of writing activities, including newsletters and other creative pieces. Their impressive work caught the attention of visitors during our Open Day, showcasing their intellectual curiosity and ability to engage with complex narratives.
Mathematical skills have been honed through the fiercely competitive TT Rockstars challenge, which has kept the class energised and engaged. The final winners are yet to be decided, but all have shown great determination and progress in their times tables knowledge.
Science lessons with Mr. Grant have sparked curiosity and exploration, while music lessons with Ms. Sherlock-Platt and Mr. Rose have brought joy and creativity to the classroom. These sessions have allowed the children to deepen their knowledge and skills while expressing themselves in new and exciting ways.
As the term came to a close, Prep IV embraced the festive spirit with a range of Christmas challenges. The culmination was their captivating performance in a detective-inspired Christmas play, which we hope you enjoyed as much as they loved bringing it to life.
Thank you for your continued support throughout this vibrant term. On behalf of Prep IV, I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.
Warm regards,
Mrs. K Booth
